The Whim

Description

The Whim is a spectacular waterside garden that was originally the caretaker’s home for Edith Wharton’s Land’s End estate. Its present owner, Oatsie Charles, is passionate about horticulture. These notable gardens have been documented in the Smithsonian Institution’s Archives of American Gardens.

Among many of the notable features of this property are 70 to 90-year-old Kwanzan cherry trees with unparalleled multi-stemmed structures; a spindle tree that has created a gazebo like shape offering quiet protection from sun and rain; climbing Evangeline rose known for blooming every 4th of July, and many more unique landscape attributes.
