Description
Staunton Park is an 85 hectare Regency landscaped garden laid out in the 1820’s and 30’s on the site of late 18th Century Pleasure Grounds. The site has a collection of follies, a 1.5ha lake and a walled garden and was created by Sir George Staunton to accommodate his Chinese and botanical interests.. There are 650 trees covering Europe, America and Asia, with China an area of special interest. And there are 16 trees which are Champions on the Tree Register of Britain and Ireland (TROBI) being of regional or National significance.
The site has a full set of facilities, including a visitor centre with café and toilets supported by educational and events programmes.
