The Ringling
The Arboretum at the Ringling consist of over 2,300 trees that represent both native and exotic species. The arboretum, which covers 66 acres, boasts an impressive collection of trees, among them 14 Banyan (Ficus altissima), the largest collection in Florida; Shaving Brush (pseudobombax ellipticum); Coral Tree (Erythrina variegate); Bunya Bunya Tree (Araucaria bidwilli); Rainbow Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta); and over 30 species of palms. Included in the lush collection is Florida's Millennium Landmark Tree, a Banyan, located near the Ca'd'Zan driveway. The Millennium Tree Trail at the southern end of the estate, created as part of the National Millennium Arbor Day Celebration, provides a welcome respite from the intense Florida sun and showcases a wide variety of trees, including oak, holly, citrus, and magnolia.
