Paxson Hill Farm was formed on 32 acres of recovered farm land in Buck’s County, Pennsylvania to celebrate, enhance and maintain a diverse assemblage of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants in varied habitats. The collection was established in 1997 and has grown substantially since its inception. Thus far, over 200 species have been cataloged in an ongoing effort to document the collection.  The arboretum gardens were designed by Horticulturist Bruce Gangawer to serve as a place of recreation, education, beauty, art and as a natural inspiration for local, regional and out-of-state visitors who vary in their horticultural awareness.  Paxson Hill’s plantings reflect the goal of building an aesthetic appreciation of wide-ranging natural habitats including designed mixed border gardens, landscaped grounds, natural woodlands, wetlands, a conifer garden and formal plantings.  They serve to educate visitors in plant identification and the unique characteristics and care of native and exotic species.
