Mt. Lebanon Arboretum
Mt. Lebanon Arboretum
Description
The Mt. Lebanon Arboretum is a collection of specimen trees found throughout the community in their parks, parklets, traffic islands, street rights-of-way and open spaces. The development of the collection is a project of the community’s Parks Advisory Board in collaboration with the municipal Department of Public Works.
The Mt. Lebanon Arboretum’s purpose is to increase species diversity and specimen tree plantings with the long-term goals of enhancing the character, resiliency and visual appearance of the community. The Arboretum will also improve public awareness of and involvement in the municipality’s urban forest management through publicly available internet mapping of notable trees on public lands throughout our community.
