Nestled among the historic landscape of Southwestern New England, the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens is a natural preserve owned by the City of Stamford and operated by the non-profit Bartlett Arboretum Association. The property features 93 acres of irreplaceable open space, magnificent award-winning Champion trees, 13 charming gardens, wildflower meadows & red maple wetlands, 2.5 miles of woodland walking trails, varied wildlife and native habitats, and the City of Stamford’s Potter’s Field (cemetery). The Arboretum’s original collections were planted 60 to 110 years ago by Dr. Francis Bartlett. Subsequent collections were planted by faculty and students from the University of Connecticut and are currently maintained by Arboretum staff and volunteers. A wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life, the Arboretum serves as a leading recreational and educational resource for visitors of all ages.
